Mr Jong Yeul Lee (South Korea)

My friends asked me why I chose Australia and why I chose to go to Canberra. My answer was because I wanted to go to ANU. If someone asked me why I chose ANU College, I would answer because I could have the best English and Academic training at ANU college before going to ANU. There is no doubt in my mind that ANU College is the best place to learn English. Even though I learnt English in my junior high school and high school, I could not speak even a word in English before coming to Australia. My Writing, Reading and Listening were not good either. I did not have any basic knowledge about English.
However, I can do all things in English now. I have strengthened and improved my English abilities thanks to my teachers and staff who helped me a lot in my study and helped me adapt to new academic life at ANU College. I am a student who is studying in the General English course and preparing for IELTS test. I had heard that ANU College was better than other schools for IELTS preparation. Now I realise why people were saying that!
Currently, I live with two Australian people which is a good opportunity to understand a different culture and a good opportunity to practice my English. I am satisfied with my study, I look forward to meeting new friends who come from different countries in Australia.
Mr Kenichi Tokoi (Japan)

ANU College improved my English skills dramatically. Every teacher was used to educate students from non-English-speaking countries. They always gave me appropriate advice. There were many discussions and writing in the lesson. When I wrote or spelled words incorrectly, my teacher not only corrected the errors but also gave me other example sentences.
It was necessary for me to put up a hard work every day. I had never undertaken full?time lessons for the last 10 years because I was working in a Japanese company in Tokyo after graduation. I had never spoken English in Japan. Additionally, most of the students from different countries were younger than me. I was worried that I would fall short of the standard. But my anxiety disappeared soon by the curriculum of ANU College. We read general articles including newspapers, business magazines in the lesson. I have learned that I need to study for 7weeks. ANU College fit my purpose.
I suppose there are many business people who want to brush up their English skills. Canberra is an intelligent city. The city makes us calm and safe. When you have free time, you can attend some public lectures at ANU. I recommend studying at ANU College.
Mr Etienne Murgues (New Caledonia)

I am French and I come from New Caledonia, a French island situated on the North East of Australia. I have done my undergraduate degree in my country and now I pursue my studies with a Master's degree in Diplomacy/International Relations at the Australian National University.
The prestige of ANU, the fact that Canberra is the capital of the country and the active role of Australia in the Asia-Pacific region, are the factors which made me choose ANU as my study destination.
I am starting my Master’s Degree in semester two, but before that I decided to improve my English skills at ANU College. At ANU College, I learnt a lot about Australian culture, I got to know different cultures (Chinese, Japanese, Iranian, etc.), I made a lot of friends and, more importantly, ANU College helped me prepare for my Master’s degree.
I was very happy to be studying at ANU College. I am now more confident about my skills and I can start my Master’s degree without trouble.
Ms Rebecca Tamegnon (France)

"I was looking for some formal English courses and ANU College had the best reputation, so I decided to study at ANU College. I will never forget my experience at ANU College because it gave me the opportunity to improve my English in an international place.
I built a good friendship with a lot of people who came from all over the world. Moreover, it was nice to learn English here as my teachers were lovely and always available to help students. Canberra is a quiet city and has a wonderful nature, it is a splendid place to study. Canberra is also close to Sydney.
I used to have coffee with my classmates after school and it was a great time for us to exchange our different cultures.
I already have my Master’s degree in Law so I would like to work as a lawyer for an international company.
I would recommend ANU College to all international students who wish to improve their English skills. Studying at ANU College was a rewarding experience for me."
