Ms Hsiao Fen Huang (Taiwan) – Access English |
|
"Taking Access Program at ANU College is a wonderful experience to me. During this course, both academic writing skills and professional oral presentations can be fostered as there were many opportunities for practical exercises. Either learning by myself or practising in a group strengthened the effectiveness and enjoyment of my English learning.
In addition, research skills and cultural interactions are the other two greatest benefits I gained from this course. Through searching for academic literature and using resources in libraries, I got more familiar with ANU academic environment and Canberra’s public resources. Moreover, cultural exchanges enriched my life and broadened my horizons as I studied with teachers and students from different countries.
Living and studying in a foreign country is a valuable but also challenging experience. Cooking and biking become my regular activities. Listening to local radios and watching TV programs not only entertain myself but also push me to get used to the Australian accent and fast-speaking English. Fortunately, ANU campus as well as Canberra is a lovely place with trees, birds, and flowers everywhere; thus, these beautiful scenes become the best comfort to an international student." |
