"I mainly chose ANU because it is the top university in Australia and one of the world’s best. As well, its international Relations Program is widely recognized. ANU has relatively few Asian students compared to other universities,
allowing me more opportunities to improve my English. It also has comprehensive programs and experienced lecturers. ANU College provides the most direct access to the ANU and is very effective in preparing its students to study there. Studying at ANU College was a wonderful experience, developing many study skills with the assistance of helpful, friendly teachers. The western education system emphasizes critical thinking and evaluation, so we were challenged to think critically and independently, especially in Social Science courses such as Australian Studies, Critical Thinking, History and Sociology. Canberra has many advantages for study, because of its beauty, small size, lack of distractions, cultural diversity, well educated local population and many national institutions.
I became much more independent and mature through living overseas. I enjoyed spending time with my friends going to events such as the Flower Festival, Floriade.
After graduating with a degree in International relations, I hope to work for some time in Australian business or government." |
